sale number one

Today was the day - the first of two craft sales!
This one was at Marlo's - from 2:00 - 6:00.  We were pretty worry at first as no one was showing up.  We still had a great time visiting with the few people that came, and they were buying a few things.  After the first hour, there was a constant, slow trickle of people.  It was a nice, relaxing time to sell some stuff and hang out with great people.
Marlo made shortbread cookies in cute little boxes, hot chocolate mix and peppermint marshmallows (yum!) in other cute little boxes,  pepper jelly and mora (blackberry) jam, and almond roca (to die for... my personal fav. - I could eat buckets of it)
Marlo is also incredibly gifted with wood working.  I think I mentioned that already.... but she is, she really is.  She's made a bunch of their furniture and stuff.  Beautiful things.  Well, she also made some simple but very lovely signs and candle holders.
And then she made some ornaments as well.  They were (and still are) so cute.  I made the letter ones.
Not sure if I wrote about those letter ones already or not, but I started with one batch and ended up wrecking them all and having to toss them.  It was a resin - miss-measuring mishap.  That was a lot of work and a lot of potential cash dumped in the can.
Several of the other things sold I already mentioned: towels, chalkboard banners/buntings and, snowman ornament kits.  Then Marlo also made these Pottery Barn knock-offs - wall hanging thingies with clips.... to hang kids' artwork or things like that on them.
Well, even though it was slow, we still ended up selling over $400 worth of stuff!!!  We haven't taken out expenses yet, but we were really pleased.  Now I'm praying that Wednesday will be just as good, or hopefully better, and we will have made a good amount of needed cash for Casa G.
So great to see the benefit of all this hard - but fun - work!  Thanks God!
